The Silicone Sock-X represents the latest evolution in our range of silicone socks, with a primary focus on exceptional durability. Unlike the V2 socks that used to tear, this new generation is crafted from a superior material through an innovative manufacturing process. All of this without compromising the snug design and impressive resistance to temperatures of up to 300°C.
This small yet significant advancement comes with several notable advantages:
1. Thermal insulation of the heater block: Prevents the heater block and nozzle from cooling down due to interference from the part cooling fan.
2. Farewell to plastic adhesion: The new silicone prevents plastic from adhering to the heater block, significantly reducing the formation of imperfections in the print.
3. Screw hole coverage: The holes for the thermistor and heater screws are protected, preventing the accumulation of plastic residue and facilitating maintenance in case of breakage.
4. Reduced heat radiation: Decreased heat radiation from the heater block creates a cooler environment and enhances part cooling during printing.
These silicone socks have been meticulously designed and are specially tailored to fit perfectly on the Original Prusa MINI and Prusa MINI+.
When using these silicone socks for the first time, you may notice a peculiar odor that will dissipate with continued use. Despite being considerably more durable than the Sock-V2, it is essential to handle them with care when putting them on and taking them off to extend their lifespan.
